Day 2 - Cape Town to Antarctica

A shared transfer will send you to the airfield for your 5-hour  private jet flight across the Southern Ocean to Antarctica. During the flight, you’ll enter the Polar Circle and encounter the continuous daylight of the Antarctic summer.

After landing on the ancient blue ice of the runway, you’ll transfer to the eco-friendly Whichaway Camp. Settle into the luxurious home away from home and enjoy a gentle  hike.

Note:

This is an expedition to wild  Antarctica; the itinerary is entirely subject to weather conditions and is meant purely as a guide to what you may expect day by day. The exact sequence of itinerary and types of aircraft mentioned may vary.

Day 3 - Antarctica

Settle into Whichaway Oasis and do as much, or as little, as you like. Activities range from yoga, massages and gentle treks to exploring the incredible ice waves, summiting a nunatak, ice climbing and even  abseiling.

On quieter days, you’ll hear talks from the polar explorer staff about some of the lesser-known history of Antarctica and their world record-breaking expeditions.

Day 4 - Antarctica (Atka Bay)

Fly 2 hours across Antarctica, accompanied by awe-inspiring views of the surrounding mountain ranges and coastline, before landing at the emperor penguin colony at Atka Bay.

You’ll be among the rare few who have ever witnessed such a spectacle, observing the real-life stars of March of the Penguins from an intimate distance.

Day 5 - Antarctica

Spend the day exploring the ice waves below your eco camp, delving into the series of mythical ice tunnels that are as surreal as they are beautiful.

Then you’ll be off on an Arctic Truck safari, winding your way through the snow and ice to an incredible vantage point wherenyou can take in the panoramic view over the waves that you have just explored.

Day 6 - Antarctica (South Pole)

Leave early in the morning in a Basler BT-67 aircraft, flying over stunning mountain ranges before landing at 83° South to refuel.

After a walk on the high polar plateau, continue to the South Pole, where you’ll have plenty of time for photos and a chance to stamp your passport before flying back to 83° South. It’s overnight in the great wilderness of the Antarctic Plateau.

Note:

The South Pole is situated at an apparent altitude of 4,000 metres with an approximate ambient temperature of -25ºC. Those with pre-conditions for altitude sickness are advised to avoid this option.

Day 7 - Antarctica

After a night under canvas, enjoy a hearty breakfast before boarding the plane once again to return to Whichaway Oasis. The flight is the perfect chance to appreciate the immense scale of Antarctica!

Upon your return to camp, it’s time to look forward to a three-course champagne dinner to celebrate your exploration achievements.

Day 8 - Antarctica

An adventurous hike along a winding cliff face rewards you with stunning views over pressure ridges of ice that have been folded over millennia by the ocean.

World-class mountain guides will lead you on this challenging hike, ensuring your safety at all times.

Day 9 - Antarctica to Cape Town

The flight out of Antarctica on the shared private jet wraps up your  exotic adventure in the White Continent. It’s time to dive back into the vibrant energy of Africa!

You will be chauffeured to your hotel in a small-group transfer. Rest up and reminisce on an exotic Antarctica  tour — no doubt there will be plenty of precious flashback moments.

Day 10 - Depart Cape Town

Depending on your flight time, you might like to explore the different sides that Cape Town has to offer at your own leisure, or have us design a half- or full-day bespoke private experience for you (additional cost).

At the appointed time, a private transfer will send you to Cape Town International Airport for your departure flight home.
